Kung Fu Panda 3 is great comedy for kids

Too often, a movie franchise will rest on its laurels and put out subpar sequels in the name of making some extra money. This can be especially frustrating with kids’ movies, for both children and parents! Luckily, Kung Fu Panda 3 continues to bring quality to the franchise, keeping it fresh and fun.

Film critic, Jeffrey M. Anderson, put it very well, saying “Kung Fu Panda 3 actually feels like part of the story, like it has a good reason to exist on its own, aside from just being an investment for a movie company.” This installment centers on Po (voiced by Jack Black) being reunited with his biological panda father, Li (voiced by Bryan Cranston). They travel together to a special panda land, with lots of amazing imagery. Critic Christy Lemire said, “So vividly immersive is Kung Fu Panda 3 - so vibrant, so tactile - it will make you feel as if you've stepped into a fully realized world.”

The film has an 82% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is very solid for a kids’ movie. It maintains lots of star power: aside from Black and Cranston, the film also features Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson and Jackie Chan. It’s also showing in 3D at some locations, which adds even more color and “pop” to the aesthetics critics are raving about. If your kids are already Kung Fu Panda fans, they’re sure to love it. If they’re new to the franchise, it’s a thoughtfully crafted movie that kids of all ages will love.
